Sakamoto Sangyo is a restoration specialist located in Tochigi Japan.
The main business of the company is construction but due to the president's love for cars and skilled staff, a few years ago, they started to restore vintage cars.
They are especially experienced with restoring Fairlady Z S30s and S31s so naturally, we were drawn to them.
Sakamoto Sangyo has an extensive facility with a section for wet blasting cars and they recently acquired a global jig to ensure that each car they restore are factory dimensions when they leave.
This particular S31 Nissan Fairlady Z is a unique car due to the customizations and modifications requested by the client.
The client requested to have Zenki (S30) floor panels, floor supports and a radiator core support installed on a Kouki (S31).

The purpose was not only to make the car look like an S30 on the exterior but also allow the car to sit lower to the ground.

The Kouki S31 radiator support's lower crossmember sits nearly 10cm lower than that of the Zenki S30. The floor supports of Kouki S31Z also are much taller. This means that when the car is lowered, they are more likely to scrape on the road if compared to a Zenki S30 at the same ride height.

This led the customer to request the installation of Zenki parts. Extensive modification was required to complete the conversion and Sakamoto Sangyo's staff did a great job with the use of KF vintage parts provided by Final Heaven.

Standard rust repair panels such as the lower front of the rear quarter panel (often called the dogleg) were also completed on the car.

Sakamoto Sangyo is capable of taking on standard restorations but they also take special requests of their clients. It is great to have companies like Sakamoto Sangyo in the industry and having them use KF Vintage green panels to save Fairlady Zs is great to see. We will continue to support them and this industry!
